We are looking for an experienced Civil Works Technician to join our Wellington team as we continue expanding throughout the lower North Island. **About the Role** This is a hands-on role for someone who can confidently work independently, problem solve on site, and represent the company professionally. You’ll be involved in a wide variety of civil and infrastructure works including earthworks, drainage, concrete, asphalt reinstatement, excavations, and site works across residential and commercial projects. We need someone reliable, efficient, and motivated who takes pride in clean workmanship and delivering a high standard of service. **What You’ll Be Doing** - Excavation and earthworks - Trenching and site preparation - Assisting with drainage installations and repairs - Concrete preparation, placing, and finishing - Asphalt reinstatement and repairs - Driveway, footpath, and small civil construction works - Operating excavators, compactors, dumpers, and civil equipment - Reactive maintenance and emergency works - Working alongside plumbing and drainage crews when required - Completing job notes, photos, and documentation accurately - Maintaining company vehicles, machinery, tools, and equipment - Providing professional communication with clients and tenants - Following health and safety procedures on site **What We’re Looking For** - Experience in civil construction, earthworks, or infrastructure works - Current NZ driver licence - WTR endorsements preferred - Class 4 licence an advantage - Ability to work independently and manage jobs efficiently - Good communication and customer service skills - Reliable, punctual, and well presented - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment - Strong work ethic and attention to detail - Experience operating civil machinery preferred **What We Offer** - Competitive pay rates based on experience - Company vehicle opportunities for senior staff - Phone and uniform - Ongoing work across Wellington and surrounding areas - Opportunity to grow within a rapidly expanding company - Supportive team environment - Long-term career progression within Taylor Contractors **About Taylor Contractors** Taylor Contractors is focused on building one of New Zealand’s leading integrated infrastructure service companies.
