Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment **About the role** The Hillcrest Tavern is looking for an experienced, reliable, and responsible Duty Manager to join our professional front-of-house team on a permanent, part-time basis. Located on Clyde Street, we are a popular local venue looking for someone who can step up, run shifts smoothly, and deliver excellent service. This role offers approximately 15–20 hours per week, primarily involving evening and weekend shifts that generally commence from 4:00pm. **What you'll do** - Oversee day-to-day tavern and bar operations during your rostered shifts. - Lead the team on the floor, delegating tasks and ensuring high standards of customer service. - Uphold all legal compliance requirements regarding the responsible service of alcohol. - Manage shift opening and closing duties, including cash handling and venue security. - Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all patrons and staff. **What you'll bring to the table** - Proven experience working as a Duty Manager within the New Zealand hospitality industry. - **Must hold a current Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ) and a valid General Manager's Certificate.** - Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution abilities. - High level of responsibility, reliability, and excellent time management. - A full New Zealand driver's licence is an advantage but not essential. **The Rewards** - Competitive pay rate of $25 - $30 per hour, fully reflecting your background and experience. - Reliable, permanent part-time hours to provide great job security. - Convenient late-afternoon start times (from 4:00pm) to help you balance daytime commitments. - Working with a supportive, professional, and close-knit team. **How to apply** If you hold the necessary qualifications and are ready to take on this role, please apply online today or send your CV and a brief cover letter via Trade Me.
