Key Responsibilities * Install passive fire protection systems including: * Fire stopping (penetrations - pipes, cables, ducts, etc.) * Fire-rated walls, ceilings, and compartmentation * Intumescent coatings and structural protection * Seal penetrations to prevent fire and smoke spread and maintain fire ratings * Read and interpret plans, specifications, and fire engineering details * Carry out reinstatement works (linings, insulation, seals, barriers) * Complete QA documentation, photo records, and compliance tagging * Identify defects/non-compliance and complete remedial works * Coordinate with other trades to ensure smooth installs around services * Maintain high standards of health & safety on-site Skills & Experience * Background in passive fire, fire stopping, or construction trades, OR strong transferable trade experience including: * Glazing / aluminium joinery * GIB fixing, stopping, or interior finishing trades * Carpentry or drylining * Electrical Trade Assistants (ETA) or service-based install roles * Ability to read plans and follow technical specs * Strong attention to detail (small penetrations = big compliance risk) * Confident using hand and power tools * Physically fit and comfortable working on active construction sites * Able to work independently or as part of a crew Qualifications (Preferred) * NZ Certificate in Fire Protection Systems (Level 3 or 4) OR relevant trade background * Site Safe * Full driver's licence
