With more than 500 specialists nationwide, we're committed to being kaitiaki - guardians of New Zealand's essential energy infrastructure. Based at our **Lower Hutt depot**, this full time, permanent role is an opportunity for an experienced **Line Mechanic** to carry out high quality construction, maintenance, installation and fault response work across the Wellington electricity network. You'll join a skilled, tight knit team delivering work that directly contributes to a safer, more resilient and sustainable future for Aotearoa. **Mōu koe | About You** You're an experienced **Line Mechanic** who takes pride in safe, high quality workmanship and can work both independently and within a field crew. You will bring: **Essential** * EWRB Line Mechanic Registration with a current practising licence * NZQA Level 4 qualification * Current Class 1 driver's licence * Strong working knowledge of SMEI and safe LV electrical work practice * Ability to clearly communicate (including WMS and JSEA documentation) **Desirable** * G&B qualification * Class 2 or heavy trade licence * Extensive industry-related experience **Ko wai mātou | Our Organisation** Downer's Energy & Utilities business unit is an integrated trans-Tasman team, providing services and solutions that connect communities to essential networks and infrastructure.
