Genuine progression opportunities We are seeking an experienced Commercial Foundations Foreman to join a growing New Zealand construction company specialising in commercial foundation and concrete works. This is a working foreman position, requiring someone who is comfortable leading from the front while remaining hands on with the crew. The role will involve working on projects throughout the South Island, so a willingness to work away from home when required is essential. Travel costs will be covered, and an away allowance will be paid while working out of town. Key Responsibilities - Lead and coordinate foundation crews on commercial construction projects - Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project plans - Oversee excavation, foundation preparation, and concrete operations - Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification - Maintain high standards of quality control across all foundation works - Coordinate labour, subcontractors, plant, and materials on site - Promote and maintain compliance with WorkSafe NZ requirements and company safety standards - Mentor and develop team members on site About You - Minimum 3 years' experience in a Foreman or Supervisory role within New Zealand construction - Strong commercial foundations experience - Proven background in concrete, footings, slabs, and foundation systems - Ability to read and interpret construction drawings - Sound understanding of NZ Building Code requirements and WorkSafe regulations - Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills - Physically fit and willing to remain hands-on when required - Willing and able to travel and work away from home on project assignments What's On Offer - Up to $45 per hour depending on experience - Permanent full-time position - Company vehicle with reasonable private use - Travel costs covered when working away - Away allowance paid for out-of-town work - Strong pipeline of commercial projects - Genuine progression opportunities within a growing business - Supportive team environment and long-term career development Candidates must have the right to live and work in New Zealand.
