Role requires attention to detail and a strong focus on safety . . We are currently recruiting for experienced Forklift Operators for warehouse roles based in Papakura and Takanini. Our client is a leader in the building materials industry, with over 40 years of experience in the New Zealand construction market. If you are looking for a long-term opportunity in a fast-paced, dynamic warehouse environment, this could be the perfect role for you. **Position Overview:** We are looking for experienced forklift operators to support warehouse operations. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe operation of forklifts, ensuring the efficient handling, loading, unloading, and storage of building materials. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, a strong focus on safety, and the ability to work effectively within a team. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Forklift Operation:** Safely operate counterbalance forklifts and reach trucks to move materials around the warehouse, ensuring products are placed in the correct locations. - **Inventory Management:** Assist with inventory tracking, ensuring that stock is accurately documented and stored in the right place. - **Loading/Unloading:** Load and unload delivery trucks, ensuring goods are handled with care and securely placed in the warehouse. - **Stock Picking & Packing:** Accurately pick and pack materials for dispatch, ensuring that orders are fulfilled according to specifications. - **Safety Compliance:** Follow health and safety regulations and ensure that all operations are carried out safely. Conduct routine checks on equipment and machinery to ensure safe operation. - **Team Collaboration:** Work closely with warehouse team members to meet daily operational goals and ensure a smooth workflow. **Skills & Experience:** - **Warehouse Experience:** At least 2 years of recent experience in a warehouse, with a strong background in forklift operation and stock handling. - **Forklift Operation:** Proven ability to operate counterbalance and reach forklifts safely and effectively. - **Health & Safety Knowledge:** A solid understanding of health and safety protocols in the workplace. Additional certifications, such as Site Safe or First Aid, are a plus. - **Reliability & Punctuality:** Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality to maintain efficient operations. - **Problem-Solving:** Ability to address and resolve warehouse challenges such as misplaced stock or equipment issues. - **Communication Skills:** Clear communication skills, including the use of 2-way radios to interact with team members and supervisors. **Certifications:** - **Forklift License:** A current and valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSH or equivalent). - **Health & Safety Certifications:** Additional certifications such as Site Safe or First Aid will be highly regarded. **Bonus Skills That Will Earn You Extra Pay:** - **MPI Accredited Person:** Certification as an MPI Biosecurity Approved Person will attract additional pay. **Work Hours:** - **Monday to Friday** – Full-time hours from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM each day.
