Summary: Seeking an experienced Drainlayer to lead a crew on large-scale civil drainage works, installing manholes and pipe systems, delivering accurate installations in deep trenching environments. Supportive team environment * $35 - $45 Per Hour + 8% Holiday Pay + Weekly Pay Cycle * 30 hour guarantee contract * Lead your own crew on major 3 Waters infrastructure About the role We're looking for an experienced Drainlayer to lead a crew of 3 on large-scale civil drainage works, installing manholes and large-diameter pipe systems including Reinforced Concrete Rubber Ring Joint (RCRRJ) and Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) pipes. This hands-on role involves working within trench shields, setting pipe lasers to grade, and delivering accurate installations across deep trenching environments. You'll work closely with supervisors and project teams to deliver high-quality 3 Waters infrastructure. Based in the Waikato. Benefits * Weekly pay + 8% holiday pay * Lead your own crew * Operate modern machinery * Work on major 3 Waters projects * Supportive team environment * 30-hour contract guarantee Duties * Lead a drainage crew of 3 * Install stormwater & wastewater pipe systems * Bench and plaster manholes * Operate diggers safely inside trench shields (desirable) * Set pipe lasers (grade + alignment) * Maintain strong site safety * Follow the Tauranga City Council Infrastructure Development Code (TCC IDC) Skills & Experience * Licensed and/or Certified Drainlayer (ideal) * Large civil drainage experience * Experience with RCRRJ pipes (300mm-1500mm) & PVC pipes (150mm-375mm) * PE pipe experience (desirable) * Deep trenching and shielding knowledge * Can lead a small team * Machinery operation experience (desirable) * Class 2 license (desirable) * WTR endorsement (desirable) * Confined Spaces About the Company This nationally recognised civil infrastructure group delivers impactful projects across New Zealand, with a strong focus on sustainability, cultural connection, and community outcomes.
