At SBS, we truly believe that when people achieve their financial goals, their whānau and communities flourish as a result. **To help us with this, we are searching for an AWS Platform Engineer to join our Technology and Transformation Team based in Invercargill on a fixed term basis.** The role of the AWS Platform Engineer is to help design, build, and maintain our AWS cloud platform. This role is critical in ensuring our cloud environment is secure, scalable, reliable, and aligned with industry best practices. You will work closely with architecture, security, operations, and delivery teams to support and evolve our AWS landing zone, automation frameworks, and platform services. **What you'll be busy with:** * Design, implement, and maintain AWS platform foundations including networking, IAM, security controls, monitoring, and automation. * Operate and enhance the AWS Landing Zone, ensuring compliance with organisational standards and AWS best practice. * Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform. * Build automated provisioning pipelines for cloud resources and platform services. * Ensure the AWS environment is resilient, cost optimised, and well architected. * Apply AWS security best practices across IAM, SCPs, SSO, policies, secrets management, and incident response. * Work with cybersecurity and audit teams to ensure adherence to organisational security policies and compliance requirements. * Implement alerting, logging pipelines, and performance dashboards. * Partner with engineering squads and project teams to design cloud solutions. **What you'll bring:** * 5+ years' experience working with AWS in an enterprise environment. * Strong understanding of multi account AWS architectures and landing zones. * Hands on experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) * Excellent knowledge of AWS networking (VPC, Transit Gateway, Route53), security services, * IAM roles/policies, and account governance. * Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines. * Experience with monitoring/observability tools including CloudWatch. * Strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash). * Relevant AWS Certifications such as Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Security Specialty This role is full time, 37.5 hours a week, with the hours of work, 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, and Fixed Term for up to 18 months to be a part of our exhilarating transformation journey. **About Us:** As a 100% NZ Member-owned bank, we have the freedom to focus on creating real value for our Members (customers).
