At SBS, we truly believe that when people achieve their financial goals, their whānau and communities flourish as a result. **To help us with this, we are searching for a Mobile Apps Engineer to join our Technology and Transformation Team, based in Invercargill on a fixed term basis.** The Mobile Apps Engineer will design, develop and maintain high-quality mobile applications, specialising in Android platforms with iOS capability using SBS Bank's Engine SDK suite. This role supports the delivery of seamless digital experiences across onboarding, transactions, cards, loans, investments and more. The role works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure mobile solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with SBS's digital strategy in partnership with Engine by Starling, which was developed by the UK's leading digital bank. **What you'll be busy with:** * Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand problems and gather solution requirements. * Builds and maintains native Android and iOS applications from scratch in a configurable way. * All aspects of development of mobile application for Android and iOS. * Contributes to process mapping and object-oriented design for applications. * Integrates and optimises Engine SDKs for banking functions including onboarding, card management, payments, and financial insights. * Provides specialist second-tier support for developed applications as applicable. **What you'll bring:** * Proven experience in native mobile development for Android and iOS * Familiarity with SDK integration and mobile pipelines * Strong understanding of UX/UI principles and mobile security best practices * Excellent communication and teamwork skills * Intermediate level development experience involving the full System Development Life Cycle (i.e. requirements capture, analysis, design, programming, testing, implementation, and support). * Object oriented experience And Preferably * Experience in finance / banking industry.
