Summary: Join the Capital Projects team as a Project Manager, driving the delivery of individual projects within the Three Waters Capital Works Programme to ensure compliant, sustainable water services. Manage project budgets, contracts, and stakeholder engagement. The Central Otago District Council is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to join our Capital Projects team in beautiful Alexandra. In this role, you will be the driving force behind the delivery of individual projects within our Three Waters Capital Works Programme. You'll work "shoulder to shoulder" with a supportive team, ensuring our community receives compliant, sustainable water services. Key Responsibilities: • Planning & Investigation: Collate data, prepare project plans, and manage essential surveys (geotechnical, ecological, etc.). • Procurement & Development: Prepare and develop tender documents for capital works. • Contract Management: Lead physical works contracts, including site supervision and formal close-out. • Financial Oversight: Manage assigned project budgets with professional due diligence. • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for property owners, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery. About you: We are looking for a collaborative professional who excels at building relationships and meeting deadlines. To be successful, you should have: • A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field. • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience. • A recognised Project Management qualification or specialised training. • Sound knowledge of engineering design/construction standards and documentation. • High-level communication skills to explain technical issues to diverse stakeholders. • The ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders. • A current, valid NZ driver’s license.
