Our client has several opportunities for experienced construction welders/fabricators (known as "Platers" in the UK or boilermakers in some countries) to assist with the construction of an energy recovery facility in North London. This is a large scale project and a fantastic opportunity for hard working kiwis to earn between $165,000 and $317,000 per annum. Pay is high due to a collective employment agreement where in addition to a competitive base salary, you will get all sorts of additional paid benefits weekly significantly adding to your pay! You will need to be able to meet criteria for the "Youth Mobility Scheme" which is a 2 years visa (with he option to extend to 3 years). You will therefore need to be under 35 years old when you enter the UK. Key to your success will be at least 5 years of construction based welding/fabricating with a recognized qualification. Typical day to day duties include: * Laying out, positioning , and securing parts and assembling metal plates according to specifications (using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and rulers). * Tack-welds - up to 2inch Tacks * Cutting workpiece, using powered saws, hand shears, or oxy acetylene cutting equipment. * Making sketches and drawings for fabrication of ducking steelwork. * Marking, setting out and fabricating brackets, large flanges etc. and pipe supports from sketches or drawings. * Setting up and levelling items of fabrication. * Inspecting grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometre, calliper, and precision measuring instruments. * Fabricating plate and ducting hoppers for large pipe flanges brackets & supports.
