




* Competitive $30-$35 per hour rate * Heavy fabrication & welding projects * Join a leading NZ equipment manufacturer Position: Fitter Welder Location: West Coast Type: Full-time/Permanent Pay Range: $30 to $35 per hour Days: Monday to Friday (with occasional calls on weekends) Hours: Guaranteed at least 30 hours per week The Company: Our client is a leading supplier and manufacturer of heavy equipment products and wear parts. Known for their commitment to quality, innovation and safety, they specialise in building and repairing earthmoving equipment for industries across New Zealand. They are now looking for a skilled and reliable Fitter Welder to join our high-performing workshop team on the West Coast. Key Responsibilities This hands-on position involves fabricating, assembling and welding earthmoving equipment products, including excavator and loader buckets, attachments and cutting edges. You'll interpret plans, use jigs and fixtures for accurate assembly, and check tolerances and quality against specifications. Health and safety is at the core of everything we do, and we expect all team members to lead by example in fostering a safe working environment. * Fabricate, assemble, and weld earthmoving equipment products such as buckets, attachments, and cutting edges. * Carry out heavy fabrication jobs as requested by customers. * Use jigs and fixtures for accurate assembly and dimensional control. * Interpret plans and specifications; check tolerances and quality of products. * Set up and operate machine tools and welding equipment. * Undertake other project tasks as required by the Workshop Manager. * Lead and participate in a culture of safety and zero harm. To be successful in this role, you will need: * At least three years proven relevant work experience * Qualifications in General Engineering, Heavy Fabrication and/or Fitting/Welding preferred * Strong time and task management skills. * Safety-focused, production-centric and a proactive team player. * Willingness to learn, grow and align with the company's core values. * Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test. * Must have a clean police report with no charges pending.
