The School of Innovation Design and Technology at Whitireia and WelTec is seeking to appoint two permanent Engineering Tutors to teach across our engineering courses. This position is based at the Petone campus but may also include work at our other Wellington campuses from time to time as required. Key responsibilities include facilitating teaching, learning and assessment, management of resources relating to course delivery and working as a member of the Built Environment and Engineering team. We are looking for people who are keen to pass on their knowledge, are enthusiastic about learning and education and have a positive attitude towards working with ākonga. A strong customer focus with demonstrated ability to be both flexible and professional is essential, along with strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Applicants will be required to pass a Ministry of Justice Criminal Convictions Check in order to work with young people and ideally hold a current driver’s licence. Qualifications and experience Essentials: * A minimum qualification of an Honours Degree in Engineering * Teaching experience * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal * Strong customer focus * Demonstrated ability to be adaptable * Relevant New Zealand experience in engineering management and professional engineering practice * Knowledge of computing software including AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, SolidWorks and SPSS Desirables: * Adult teaching qualification * Current NZ driver’s licence * Experience working in a tertiary education environment * PhD or Master’s degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline What we can offer you?
