THE POSITION This is a hands-on role suited to someone that’s looking to take that next step in their career. We are looking for a mechanic with a strong background in heavy road transport who can effectively work with the workshop supervisor and support a team of mechanics while ensuring high standards of workmanship and efficiency. While the primary focus is on our trucking fleet, exposure to earthmoving machinery is a bonus, as the role occasionally supports our construction equipment operations. You’ll be working across a modern and well-maintained fleet of road transport vehicles, including Mack, Volvo, Hino, and Isuzu trucks. The role includes a mix of workshop servicing and field-based repairs, offering both stability and variety in your day-to-day work. Key Responsibilities • Lead, supervise, allocate and support a team of workshop mechanics on day-to-day mechanical tasks. • Oversee daily workshop operations and workflow • Ensure all maintenance and repair work is completed safely and to a high standard • Assist with mechanical tasks as required (hands-on involvement on jobs) • Diagnose issues and provide technical guidance to the team • Maintain productivity, quality control, and deadlines • Promote a strong safety culture within the workshop • Check over paperwork and update maintenance records where required. • Assist on parts ordering/ charge out • Key advantages: would be someone with Volvo and Mack experience but not necessary.
