Supportive team environment and strong site culture Must have the right to work in New Zealand to apply About the Role: * Preventative and reactive maintenance across factory machinery and automated equipment * Fault-finding, servicing, repairs, and installation work as required * Working on saws, presses, conveyors, timber handling systems & dust extraction equipment * Troubleshooting PLC-controlled machinery, sensors, drives & pneumatic systems * Supporting commissioning and upgrades of new machinery and automation systems * Recording maintenance activities, faults & corrective actions * Working alongside contractors, OEMs & production staff to minimise downtime * Supporting continuous improvement and production efficiency initiatives * Following safe isolation, lockout/tagout & machine guarding procedures What We’re Looking For: * Previous experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance * Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills * Practical understanding of automation systems, PLCs, HMIs, sensors & VSDs * Ability to read mechanical, pneumatic & basic electrical schematics * Experience troubleshooting automated production equipment * Good communication, planning & problem-solving skills * Ability to work independently and handle breakdowns under pressure * Positive attitude with a strong focus on safety and continuous improvement Requirements: * Able to pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test * Physically fit and capable of hands-on maintenance work * Legal right to work in New Zealand * Full driver’s licence preferred * Relevant engineering or maintenance qualification advantageous What’s in it for you? * Competitive pay based on experience * Minimum 40 hours per week * Immediate start available * 6-month fixed-term opportunity * Work with modern automation and manufacturing equipment * Supportive team environment and strong site culture * Weekly pay + holiday pay Why Join ExtraStaff?We are New Zealand’s leading provider of skilled contract labour, supporting manufacturing, engineering, and construction teams nationwide.
