The Role
We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Equipment Technician to support our FFE and Madill customers across the South Island. This role is based in Brightwater, but majority of your time would be spent onsite servicing machinery, operating independently from a fully equipped service vehicle.
What You Will Do
• Operate out of a fully equipped company Ute to support, maintain and service FFE and Madill machinery and related equipment across the South Island.
• Carry out scheduled maintenance, field repairs, diagnostics, fault-finding and component replacement.
• Work with a range of systems including hydraulics, electrical circuits, PLC controls, sensors, wiring, engines and large mechanical assemblies.
• Tune machine hydraulics using PLC controllers
• Carry out regular health checks on the FFE equipment
• Coordinate parts and logistics, and communicate clearly with customers and DC headquarters.
• Work autonomously without the supervision of a local branch.
• Maintain accurate job records, service reports and documentation while ensuring compliance with all health & safety requirements.
• Represent the company professionally as the key point of contact for customers in the field.
What We’re Looking For
• A trade qualification or practical background in auto electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, automotive, or engineering fields.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with confidence working on large machinery or industrial systems in field conditions.
• Ability to work independently, and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
• Full NZ driver licence.
• Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays when required.
• A commitment to safety, high-quality workmanship and delivering a positive customer experience.
