The Role We are seeking two skilled and self-motivated Equipment Technician to support our FFE and Madill customers across the North Island. This is a remote role operating independently from a fully equipped service vehicle, with our HQ based in Brightwater, Nelson. The two regions we are looking for Technicians are Gisborne and Napier/Hawkes Bay, due to machine population. Travel across multiple regions will be required to support our customer base. What You Will Do • Operate from a fully equipped company ute to service and support customer machinery • Perform scheduled maintenance, field repairs, diagnostics, and fault-finding • Work on hydraulics, electrical systems, PLC controls, sensors, engines, and mechanical assemblies • Tune machine hydraulics using PLC controllers • Conduct regular equipment health checks • Manage daily schedules, parts, and logistics • Communicate clearly with customers and head office • Maintain accurate service records and documentation • Ensure compliance with health & safety requirements • Represent DC Equipment professionally in the field What We’re Looking For • A trade qualification or strong practical background in: Auto electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, automotive, engineering fields • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills • Experience working on large machinery or industrial systems • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload • Excellent organisation and time-management skills • Full NZ driver license • Willingness to travel across the North Island (including overnight stays) • Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship What We Offer • Competitive salary package – starting wage range of $40–$50 per hour, aligned with experience and expertise.
