This unique opportunity involves working in one of the most remote and challenging environments on Earth. **Location:** McMurdo Station, Antarctica (approximately 200-300 residents in winter season) **Rate:** $50 per hour **A minimum 6-month deployment. You must be available to deploy from late Jan/early Feb 2026. Please note this is not a FIFO role, you will be on the ice for the full 6 months.** **What to expect when you're down there:** * The role will involve maintaining and repairing a range of light vehicles at McMurdo base * Accommodation provided (you will be in a bunkroom) * Free food (the meals aren't Michelin starred, but they're still pretty good) * Free flights from any major NZ airport * $50 per hour * Work schedule: Mon - Sat, 7am - 5pm (1 hr lunch break) **You must have the following:** * LIGHT vehicle mechanic experience on a broad range of vehicles, specifically Ford * NZ Certificate in Automotive Engineering at Level 4 (OR Overseas Equivalent) * NZ Work Rights (no sponsorship or visa variations available) **What to expect before you start:** * Medical and dental checks * Thorough criminal background and security checks * Vaccinations (flu and TDAP compulsory) **What to do now:** Please apply through the link.
