The Role We are looking for a hands-on, organised, and reliable Operations Manager to lead our yard/warehouse operations. You will be the engine room of our company, ensuring stock moves efficiently from receipt to dispatch while maintaining a safe and productive environment for our team and customers. We are a small team, looking for someone who’s not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get involved in all areas of the business. Your key responsibilities will include: *Inventory Management: Overseeing stock receipts, running regular stock takes, and maintaining high levels of accuracy. *Order Processing: Entering orders into our system and ensuring they are processed and picked correctly. Team Leadership: Managing and motivating yard staff to ensure daily targets and safety standards are met. *Health & Safety: Taking ownership of H&S protocols to ensure a safe working environment for everyone. *Customer Service: Dealing directly with customers in the yard and providing professional service. *Certification Audits: Maintaining and actioning requirements in line with our certified products. *Logistics & Samples: Dispatching client samples promptly with attention to detail and coordinating outward goods. About You To be successful in this role, you’ll need a "lead by example" attitude and a solid understanding of warehouse or yard flow. This role requires a proactive attitude and a willingness to support across different areas of the business as needed. Skills and Experience required: *Previous experience in a Warehouse Supervisor or Operations Manager role (Timber or Building Industry experience is a major plus). *Strong computer literacy for order entry and inventory tracking. *A current Forklift Licence (F endorsement and OSH certificate) beneficial, we can put the right candidate through Forklift training to obtain current licence. *Excellent communication skills—you’re comfortable talking to staff, Management and high-end clients. *Physical fitness and the ability to work in a busy, outdoor/indoor timber yard environment. *A proactive approach to Health & Safety.
