Summary: Higgins Bay of Plenty seeks a Network Inspector to assess network performance, identify defects, monitor maintenance, and support renewal programs for NZTA's long-term Integrated Delivery Contract. Highlights: 1. Inspect network and assets to assess performance and compliance 2. Identify and log defects to support maintenance and renewal programmes 3. Work with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders during inspections Higgins Bay of Plenty has secured a new long-term Integrated Delivery Contract with NZTA for the region and is looking for a Network Inspector to join the team based in Opotiki. This contract focuses on the safe, reliable, and sustainable delivery of maintenance, renewals, and safety improvements across the network from Waihi and Tauranga through to Rotorua and Opotiki. In this role, you will inspect the network and its assets to assess performance and compliance. You will identify and log defects, monitor maintenance activities, and use this information to support maintenance and renewal programmes. What You'll Be Doing * Carry out inspections across the network and document findings clearly and accurately * Identify defects, risks, and areas not meeting required service levels * Provide reliable data to support maintenance planning and treatment decisions * Investigate issues and contribute to root cause analysis * Work closely with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders during inspections and site walkovers What You'll Bring to the Role * We're looking for someone who is confident out in the field, comfortable working with data, and able to build strong working relationships. * You will have: * Experience in civil construction, roading, or infrastructure environments * Practical understanding of pavement or surfacing performance * Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, reliable records * Confidence using basic digital tools such as tablets and reporting systems * Clear communication skills when working with teams, clients, and the public * Ability to manage time, prioritise work, and make sound decisions on the go * Full Class 1 Drivers License Higgins is a leading construction and infrastructure company, proudly building and maintaining roads, bridges, and civil projects that connect communities across New Zealand.
