Job Description AFFCO is seeking a well presented, professional individual for the role of Site Security Officer at its Moerewa plant. The Site Security Officer is responsible for ensuring that the plant and surrounding facilities are secured and that the integrity of the external environment, buildings, products, personnel and materials is not compromised. Trustworthiness and discretion are critical. Reporting to the Plant Engineer, you will monitor refrigeration systems, communication systems and site security. This role also requires regular night work and work on weekends. Hours of Work The hours of work will be: * Monday: 5:00pm to 4:00am * Tuesday: 5:00pm to 4:00am * Wednesday: 5:00pm to 4:00am * Saturday: 6:00am to 6:00pm Key Responsibilities * Patrol the plant and surrounding areas to ensure no unauthorised personnel or vehicles are present on site * Ensure the perimeter fence is maintained in a secure state * Monitor electronic security gate access, ensuring it is locked out of hours * Ensure external lighting is sufficient to allow detection of unusual activities * Monitor camera footage out of hours to confirm plant security * Report any breaches of security to the Plant Engineer and Plant Manager * Conduct personal bag searches prior to operators leaving the site as instructed by the Plant Manager * Monitor and control vehicle and personnel access outside of normal operating hours * Monitor temperatures of operating refrigerated containers at required frequencies and maintain records * Operate communication systems and maintain logs as per company requirements * Act as Chief Warden in an evacuation * Ensure worker safety while on site and during transition in and out of the plant * Identify and report any potential hazards or security risks and breaches About You We're looking for a reliable and vigilant individual with a calm temperament and the ability to work independently.
