We're on the hunt for a motivated individual who wants to move beyond the cab and make a real difference in a dynamic transport environment. This is a role based in Manukau which will require you to operate Class 5 trucks and assist with health and safety observations. Your days will start at 6am where you would operate as a casual driver that fills in to assist with jobs when needed, hence why you need to have Class 5 driving experience yourself. This could range from covering leave or sickness, to helping out when things are busy. Our ideal candidate is an experienced Class 5 Driver who is either sick of long hours and wants a regular routine with responsibility. Preferably you have some despatching experience using transport management systems. The client is happy to train someone with the right attitude and experience, so no health and safety background required. Just a willingness to learn, ability to listen and instruct and a positive hard working attitude! If this sounds like something you are interested in, then APPLY now! You can expect: • Monday-Friday. • 6am-5pm each day. • $30-32p/hr + 8% holiday pay. • Temp to permanent role. Duties Include: • Driving a Class 5 truck when needed. • Conduct safety observations and support the health and safety culture • Use transport management systems to manage freight and dispatch tasks • Record keeping/driving log. • Provide hands-on coaching and mentoring for drivers occasionally Role Requirements: • Class 5 License (essential). • MUST have at least 2 years of experience driving Class 5 trucks. • Strong computer skills and experience with transport management systems • OSH forklift license (preferred but not essential). • Physically fit – you might need to throw chains or assist with on-the-ground tasks • Good communication skills and positive attitude. • Ability to listen, support and develop skills of others • Clean MOJ and pre-employment drug/alcohol testing required.
