This is a key leadership role responsible for delivering contract outcomes, driving profitability, optimising resources, and ensuring high performance standards across safety, quality, and environmental practices. You will play a key role in developing and executing operational plans, strengthening client relationships, and contributing to the continued growth and success of the business. Key Responsibilities: * Develop contract methodologies, budgets, and programmes aligned with tender objectives * Oversee end to end management of assigned contracts, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to specification * Manage contractual obligations, variation, and claims in accordance with contract conditions * Build and maintain strong working relationships across teams and stakeholders * Identify and pursue new business opportunities across the Tasman region * Lead a strong Zero Harm culture through visible leadership and best practice. **Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills** You'll need to have experience managing surfacing contracts (both long and short term), and you'll have: * A tertiary qualification in Engineering (preferred), such as BE or NZCE (or equivalent experience) * Extensive experience in road surfacing operations and the leadership of teams * Strong commercial acumen, including financial reporting, budgeting, and P&L understanding * Proven experience at delivering results in a commercially competitive environment where a focus on service and operational excellence is paramount * Strong business development skills and a track record of maintaining collaborative client relationships * Solid understanding / track record of delivering Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality compliance **Ko wai mātou | Our Organisation** Want to know more about what it is like to work at Downer?
