Exposure to high-profile and technically challenging projects About the Role My client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex demolition and deconstruction projects across the Wellington region. This is a unique opportunity to work on technically challenging, high-profile projects including hospitals, heritage buildings, and inner-city structures. This role is hands-on and site-focused, requiring strong leadership, planning, and the ability to manage risk in live environments. You will take ownership from project handover through to completion, ensuring safe, methodical, and commercially successful delivery. Key Responsibilities - Lead site teams, supervisors, and subcontractors - Ensure compliance with HSE and regulatory requirements - Manage client, council, and stakeholder relationships - Oversee asbestos and hazardous materials interfaces - Manage temporary works, structural risk, and site safety - Deliver projects on time and within budget - Monitor commercial performance and contract delivery Qualifications & Experience - 10+ years experience in construction, civil, or demolition - Proven experience delivering complex or high-risk projects - Strong leadership and communication skills - Experience with asbestos or hazardous materials (preferred) - Sound commercial and contractual knowledge - Civil Engineering qualification (advantageous but not required) What My Client Offers - Salary 140-170k - Company vehicle or allowance - Health insurance - Long-term career progression - Exposure to high-profile and technically challenging projects About My Client My client is a well-established specialist contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex demolition, deconstruction, and remediation projects across New Zealand.
