Partner with engineering and senior leadership for alignment As a Principal Product Manager, you'll lead a strategic product area, inform and execute the overall Property Audience strategy. You're responsible for growing Trade Me Property's audience and our business impact, leading out a holistic approach to ensure our product and engineering roadmaps create measurable value. You'll connect our customers, consumers and our business to ensure we deliver products that create customer and business value. You will be a passionate leader that is invested in helping us fulfill our long-term vision to be where Kiwis look first. **Here is what you can expect from this role:** * **Strategic Vision:** Partner with the Head of Product to define and execute a 2-3 year property product strategy that cements our position as where Kiwi look first. * **Inspirational Roadmaps**: Translate complex customer problems into a prioritized, high-clarity roadmap that inspires cross-functional squads (product, design, engineering) to deliver. * **Commercial & ROI Ownership:** Drive the business case for new initiatives, maximizing ROI, audience share, and market growth while owning key commercial partnerships. * **AI Product Leadership:** Set the standard for responsible AI feature delivery, leading the team's thinking on how AI can create step-change improvements in the property journey. * **Holistic Discovery:** Lead continuous discovery across diverse customer segments to uncover high-value opportunities and validate new product investments. * **Cross-Business Alignment**: Act as the strategic bridge between engineering, the Audience Leadership group, and wider business units (sales, marketing, finance) to align product direction with commercial goals. **What you will bring to our team:** * **7+ Years in Consumer Product**: Proven track record leading large-scale, consumer-facing online products from concept to market launch. * **AI & ML Product Delivery:** Hands-on experience shipping scaled AI/ML features (recommendation models, LLMs) and evaluating model confidence/readiness. * **Tech & Executive Alignment:** Experience partnering with Engineering Managers and Senior Leadership to align technical and product roadmaps. * **Commercial & ROI Success:** Proven success building business cases with quantified benefits, managing risk, and driving market share growth. * **Strategic & Ruthless Prioritization:** Balances near-term value with long-term strategy, right-sizing discovery to focus solely on high-impact initiatives. * **Data & Commercial Acumen:** Translates complex technical and data insights into clear business outcomes and tough investment decisions. * **Influential Leadership:** Aligns diverse cross-functional teams and stakeholders behind a single vision through absolute clarity of thought. * **Customer Empathy:** Functions as a fierce champion for the voice of the customer, deeply understanding consumer behavior. * **Collaborative Resilience:** Thrives in ambiguity, forms strong relationships, and remains resilient while meeting demanding targets. **You'll have the best time working at Trade Me, and this is why:** **#AI and Tech:** We live and breathe AI in our daily tasks.
