Engage in accurate log measurement and scanning using international standards. 2. Utilize strong data entry skills for administrative support. 3. Work in a team environment with a focus on safety. About the Job The Checkpoint is a facility where logging trucks come to have their logs measured and ticketed ready for export. The Log Scaler manually attaches barcodes to every log then "scales" or measures each log using an international standard and finally scans the logs into our system so that every single log can be tracked wherever it is. You don't need previous experience in this type of role either as training is provided. The Checkpoint is located in Hillsborough and is a team environment where the safety of our staff is paramount. Shifts can be up to 12 hours in length with some weekend work and you need to be flexible with working hours as shift times can vary. The Checkpoint normally operates between 0545am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work depending on volumes, so flexibility regarding hours worked is required. As well as checkpoint duties, we are also seeking someone who has Data Entry skills to provide administrative support at our Log Checkpoint facility. The primary function of this role will be the inputting of data relating to tracking Logs for export. The ideal candidate will also provide back up support as a Log Scaler when required. About you You will be the kind of person who has strong data entry skills and likes to be accurate when taking measurements, with good attention to detail. You will also enjoy communicating with truck drivers and members of your team. As part of the Log Scaling component of this job you will need to be ok on your feet for some of your shift, while using scanning equipment.  Our preference is that you hold a full class 1 licence.
