This is a hands-on role where your accuracy and discipline will directly influence manufacturing efficiency, inventory control, and margin visibility. We’re looking for a Purchasing & Costing Coordinator who can bring structure to procurement, integrity to costing data, and clear financial insight into our manufacturing operations. ________________________________________ About Us McIntosh Brothers Engineers is a long-established New Zealand manufacturer of McIntosh Farm Machinery, designing and building equipment that performs in demanding, real-world conditions. Based in the Manawatu, we design, fabricate, assemble, and support our own product range, supplying farmers and contractors across New Zealand and into Australia. We are a third-generation, family-owned engineering business with a reputation for practical thinking and straight dealing. If you value accountability, teamwork, and seeing the tangible impact of your work, this is a business where you can build capability and contribute with purpose. ________________________________________ The Role This role is responsible for managing purchasing processes, maintaining accurate product costing data, and providing visibility over manufacturing costs. You will play a key part in ensuring materials are available when needed, inventory is controlled, and product and job costing reflects the true cost of production. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities • Manage day-to-day purchasing of production materials, supplies, and spare parts • Maintain supplier relationships and monitor delivery performance • Oversee stock levels and support inventory accuracy using Syspro and Kanban systems • Maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and standard product costs • Review job cost variances and provide insight into margin performance • Support continuous improvement of purchasing and costing processes ________________________________________ Requirements • Experience in purchasing, inventory control, or cost accounting within a manufacturing environment • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (Syspro experience highly regarded) • High level of accuracy and attention to detail • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret cost data and identify variances • Strong organisational and communication skills • Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations and suppliers ________________________________________ Apply Now If you are commercially aware, systems-focused, and motivated to improve purchasing discipline and cost visibility, we’d like to hear from you.
