Summary: ANZCO Foods is seeking an Operations Planner to optimize loadouts, minimize inventory, and reduce freight costs, ensuring efficient product movement within their Logistics team. Build and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines and ports ANZCO Foods have an opportunity for an Operations Planner to join our Logistics team based at our head office in Christchurch. Reporting to the Operations and Logistics Team Leader, you will play a key role in optimising loadouts, minimising inventory levels, and reducing freight costs while ensuring efficient product movement from our sites to customers. You will ideally have experience in a similar planning or logistics role. Experience in manufacturing, the meat industry and understanding of New Zealand shipping legislation is an advantage, but not essential. Duties and Responsibilities will include: * Coordinate and book ocean freight through intra Portal, including container releases, allocations, and vessel capacity management. * Manage daily logistics operations, responding to site, marketing, and shipping partner queries. * Maintain accurate logistics data through data entry, invoice processing, PO creation, and reconciliation. * Produce weekly forecasts for shipping lines, including empty container and buffer stock requirements. * Manage container movements, late receivals, and NZ demurrage & detention (D&D). * Build and maintain strong working relationships with shipping lines, ports, and transport providers. Skills and Experience we are looking for: * Qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline. * Strong interest in logistics, transport planning, and supply chain operations. * Well developed analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw conclusions. * Good numerical ability and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. * Understanding of basic logistics and inventory management principles * Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams * High attention to detail and a structured, organised approach to work * Positive attitude with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and take initiative. * Identify process improvement opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and cost outcomes.
