This role is critical to ensuring the efficient planning, scheduling, and coordination of transport activities across New Zealand, with a strong focus on safety, customer service, and fleet optimisation. About the Role As a Transport Dispatcher, you will be responsible for managing daily dispatch operations, coordinating drivers and equipment, and ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and on time. You'll work closely with drivers, internal teams, depots, ports, and external stakeholders to keep operations running smoothly. Key Responsibilities * Plan, schedule, and dispatch transport work for full and empty containers nationwide * Optimise fleet utilisation to meet efficiency, service, and cost targets * Manage daily scheduling, job allocation, and real-time operational changes * Maintain proactive communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams * Monitor container hire periods, detention, and demurrage to minimise costs * Ensure all dispatch documentation and records are accurate and up to date * Coordinate with workshop and yard teams to ensure vehicle readiness and maintenance * Provide operational support across dispatch, yard, and transport activities when required * Ensure compliance with all transport, health & safety, and legislative requirements * Promote a safety-first culture and uphold professional standards at all times Health & Safety * Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation and company policies * Monitor container weights, permits, and road user charge compliance * Actively promote safe work practices and report hazards, incidents, and near misses About You You will be highly organised, solutions-focused, and comfortable working in a high-pressure transport environment. You'll bring strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
