The Driver Operator (Surfacing) is responsible for ensuring all plant is presented, serviced, maintained and operated in a professional, safe and efficient manner that complies with all relevant legislation, regulation and policy and achieves agreed productivity and quality targets. **Why you will enjoy working here | Ko te take ka parekareka e koe ki te mahi ki kōnei** * Hourly rate between $30 - $36. * Full time permanent position, with at least 40 hours paid per week guaranteed. * Based in the Bay of Plenty, with extensive travel across Waikato as well. * Health care and Wellbeing benefits * Development programmes and ongoing career opportunities across NZ & Australia **Important Skills | Nga Pūkenga Matu** To be successful within this role we are looking for someone who has experience operating civil machinery, along with the below: * Full Class 5 License at minimum You must have either: * A qualification at level 4 or higher on the New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework (NZQCF) (Work experience can replace qualification), OR * At least 3 years or more of relevant work experience. **Work experience can include:** * Proven ability and competence in the proper care, maintenance and operation of appropriate plant and equipment * Numerical skills and legible handwriting * Be able to operate in a Surfacing team, in reverse, hoist raised for extended periods * Loading asphalt material from supply to site, reversing frequently into asphalt paver * Previous work in the Surfacing environment on State highways & local contracts If you are physically fit and enjoy spending your days outside and, on the road, this could be the perfect position for you. **How to apply | Me pēhea ki te tono** *If this sounds like the opportunity for you, click Apply Now to submit your application!* We are committed to a safe working environment for everyone - all successful applicants will be required to undertake a pre-employment drug test, medical and a Ministry of Justice check prior to starting employment.
