Supportive team environment with a focus on safety C3 are building our pool of Straddle Crane Operators and are looking for experienced heavy machinery drivers to join our team at the Sulphur Point Container Terminal. About the Role As a Straddle Crane Operator, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient movement of containers within our terminal operations. You'll operate a straddle crane from a cab suspended approximately 11 metres above the ground, communicating with your team via radio. While previous straddle crane experience is advantageous, it is not essential. We provide comprehensive training to successful applicants who can demonstrate strong heavy machinery operating skills and the right aptitude for the role. As the container terminal operates 24/7, night and day shifts as well as working weekends is a requirement. Night shifts are rostered between the hours of 6pm and 0600am. Shifts generally range between 6 and 12 hours. Due to the nature of shipping schedules, hours can vary and flexibility is essential. Because of the long shifts and fatigue management requirements, applicants must live locally or have local accommodation to ensure safe commuting and compliance with company policy. What You'll Bring To succeed in this role, you'll need a calm, focused approach and the ability to work independently. Your workspace will be a small, elevated cab, so comfort with heights and working alone is essential.
