Contribute to maritime and accommodation logistics for energy operations Meister Services Limited provides the maritime and accommodation logistics to support Meridian Energy's operations associated with the Manapouri power station. Meister Services Ltd is a division of the Meister Group, a growing Southland business which provides complete end to end engineering and project management services across a variety of construction, civil and energy industry projects throughout New Zealand. About the role Working with Meridian Energy, the team have a vacancy for a qualified and experienced Skipper to join them, transporting staff, other passengers and equipment between Manapouri and West Arm, and assisting with various activities across local Meridian sites. Based in Manapouri, this is a full-time role typically working 6am – 6pm across a four-day per week, Monday to Friday (inclusive) roster. Overtime is available. The role offers the successful candidate variety in their day, with both time on the water and a range of land-based tasks included. Specific duties of this role include: * Operating a passenger vessel and barge between Manapouri and West Arm * Providing general assistance to Meister and the client (Meridian Energy Limited) with maintenance and operational needs * Store person and maintenance duties * Upkeep of the Supply Bay yard About you We would love to hear from candidates with the following qualifications, skills and experience: * Skipper Restricted Limits (SRL) with 24 metre and passenger endorsement (required) * Current First Aid certificate * Minimum 2 years’ experience within the Marine sector * Proven leadership skills and strong interpersonal and communication skills * Experience training staff * The ability to work effectively with, and relate to, a diverse range of people and cultures * Excellent customer service skills * A strong commitment to workplace health and safety Confined space training, heights training and a dangerous goods license would be beneficial but are not required.
