OneStaff is seeking a reliable and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial to the smooth operation of warehouse/yard, involving the safe and efficient movement of goods and materials, as well as general labouring work as required.
You will be responsible for a range of tasks from receiving and dispatching goods to maintaining a tidy and safe work environment including but not limited to:
Duties:
* Safely and proficiently operating a forklift (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck, telehandler) to move, stack, and retrieve a variety of goods and materials.
* General labouring work as required (loading and unloading trucks and containers in a timely and careful manner).
* Performing pre-start checks and routine maintenance on the forklift, reporting any faults or damage immediately.
* Assisting with the accurate receiving and dispatch of goods, including checking delivery dockets and orders.
* Storing goods in designated areas and ensuring stock is organised and easily accessible.
* Conducting regular stocktakes as required.
* Assisting with general warehouse duties, including manual handling, packing, and cleaning.
* Adhering strictly to all company health and safety protocols and legislative requirements.
* Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness in the warehouse or yard.
Skills and Experience:
* Minimum of 3 years of proven experience operating a forklift in a commercial environment
* a NZ licence is required, or the ability to obtain one upon commencing employment is a requirement.
* A strong understanding of safe forklift operation procedures and load stability.
* Experience with inventory management systems or scanners is an advantage.
* A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* A good level of physical fitness, as the role may involve manual handling.
* Good communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
* Flexibility to work in various locations across the country
Pay rate: minimum $25.00 to $30.00 depending on experience
Hours of work: A minimum of 30 hours of work is guaranteed.
Location: You may be required to work in multiple locations throughout New Zealand, including Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne,Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago and Southland.
