Join our awesome Learn to Swim team and help tamariki build confidence and life-saving aquatic skills — all while having fun! We’ve got two exciting roles available: Baby & Toddler Swim Instructor (Saturday Mornings) If you adore little ones and have a knack for making learning fun, this role is for you! You'll be working with our youngest swimmers — from 6 months to 4 years old — helping them (and their whānau!) feel safe and happy in the water. It’s all about having fun, smiles, and splashes! When: Saturday mornings Where: KCDC Pools School Group Swim Instructor (Weekdays) Passionate about teaching school-aged kids? Help local tamariki gain essential water safety skills through our school group Learn to Swim programmes. You’ll be working during school hours across our KCDC pools — Coastlands Aquatic Centre, Ōtaki Pool, and Waikanae Pool. When: Weekdays during school hours Where: Across KCDC Pools Whether you're keen on giggles with toddlers or guiding school kids to swim success, we’d love to hear from you. About you | He kōrero mōu To excel in this role, you will have: • Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated commitment to customer service and willingness to and capability for dealing with a wide range of people within and outside the organisation. • Enthusiastic and positive attitude towards swimming and learning. • Perseverance, patience, sensitivity and the ability to put people at ease. • Ability to inspire confidence and motivate swimmers. Experience in facilitating aquatic activities an advantage but not a requirement • An understanding of swimming skills and lifesaving methods. Training and qualifications will be provided, however holding any one of the following is a definite advantage: • First Aid Certificate • SNZ Swim Teacher Award • Austswim Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety • NZ Certificate in Aquatics (Swim & Water Safety Teacher) Level 3 For more information regarding the role, please view the job description on the Council vacancies page.
