We're partnering with a successful New Zealand business operating across major infrastructure, industrial and energy-related projects. With strong growth ambitions and expansion plans across the North Island, they are now looking for an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of their finance function and become a key commercial advisor to the leadership team. This is a role for someone who wants to do more than simply closes the month and produces reports. We're looking for a commercially minded Chartered Accountant who can interrogate the numbers, identify risks and opportunities early, improve visibility across the business and provide the insights required to support confident decision-making. You'll lead the finance and administration function while working closely with senior leadership to strengthen forecasting, improve reporting, streamline systems and drive profitability. What you'll be responsible for: - Leading the finance and administration team - Delivering accurate and timely financial reporting - Building meaningful forecasting, budgeting and cashflow models - Analysing profitability across projects, contracts and business activities - Identifying trends, anomalies and performance risks before they become problems - Improving financial systems, controls and reporting processes - Managing payroll, invoicing, debtors and cashflow performance - Providing commercial recommendations to support growth and profitability - Reducing reliance on external advisors through stronger internal capability - Partnering with operational leaders to improve financial accountability and business performance What we're looking for: - Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ) qualification - Proven experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or senior commercial finance role - Strong analytical and forensic problem-solving capability - Advanced budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling skills - Experience leading finance teams and improving financial processes - A leader who can engage at all business levels while acting as a trusted advisor to the directors and leaders across the business. - Strong understanding of New Zealand financial reporting, GST and compliance requirements - The ability to communicate financial information in a practical and commercially meaningful way - Experience within contracting, construction, industrial services, infrastructure, manufacturing or other operationally intensive environments will be highly regarded Why this opportunity stands out: This is a business where finance has a genuine seat at the table.
