AWF are working with established contractors across the Wellington region and are looking for reliable STMS professionals who set the standard on site. Roles Available We're keen to hear from: * Qualified STMS across civil, roading, and infrastructure projects * Qualified STMS who are confident leading crews, managing live traffic environments, and maintaining compliance * Qualified STMS who can also jump in to support general site duties when required What You'll Be Doing * Implementing, monitoring, and maintaining **TMPs** in line with site requirements * Completing site set-up and pack-down including signage, cones, barriers, and equipment checks * Running pre-starts/toolboxes and ensuring the crew understands the traffic plan and controls * Managing traffic flows safely around workers, plant, and the public * Completing site documentation (as required), reporting issues, and escalating risks early * Liaising professionally with site supervisors, clients, and the public when needed * Maintaining a strong safety culture and ensuring standards are met consistently What You Need * Current **STMS qualification** * Solid understanding of traffic management and safe work practices on active sites * A calm, clear communication style and confidence leading on-site decisions * Reliability, strong situational awareness, and a professional approach * **Full Class 1 licence** (Class 2 is a bonus) * Ability to pass standard pre-employment checks What's in It for You * Competitive hourly rates aligned to your qualifications and experience * Weekly pay + holiday pay + KiwiSaver * Ongoing work across reputable Wellington projects * PPE provided * Ongoing support from AWF, both on and off site * Compliance Notes * Applicants must have the current right to work in New Zealand. * As per our standard procedures, all candidates must pass a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol screening test. * Ministry of Justice criminal background checks are part of our standard process, please speak to our team if you need to discuss your application process further.
