Collaborate with site managers and work effectively in a team Summary: We are seeking a skilled Heavy Haulage Driver to join our team in Christchurch, Canterbury. This permanent, full-time position is crucial for the successful transportation of heavy plant and equipment between our yards and sites. Responsibilities: - Operate heavy haulage vehicles to transport plant and equipment to various locations. - Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations. - Plan and follow efficient routes to minimise delays and ensure timely deliveries. - Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage and fuel consumption. - Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while transporting heavy machinery. - Self-loading/unloading. - Communicate effectively with site managers and other team members to coordinate deliveries. - At times work unsupervised. - Be available for early start/late finishes and emergency works callouts. - Work in a team environment. - Provide other driving assistance as and when required. Qualifications: - Valid Heavy Vehicle Licence (Class 5) with WTR & Forklift Endorsements. - Clean driving record. - Current BESS. - Understanding of overweight permits. - Proven experience as a heavy haulage driver, preferably in the building and construction industry. - Local knowledge would be an advantage. - Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices. - Ability to operate various types of heavy machinery and equipment. - Excellent time management and organisational skills. - Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team. - A commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
