Programme Facilitators support work with people within our two Wellington Prisons and our six Community Corrections sites to understand and address the causes of their offending and assist them in creating crime-free futures. They do this through delivering a range of clinically designed therapeutic programmes, either individually or in a group with a co-facilitator.
Using the principles of manaaki, kaitiaki, wairua, rangatira, and whanau, Programme Facilitators deliver a range of clinically designed therapeutic rehabilitation programmes. At Ara Poutama we work collaboratively to treat those in our care and management with respect to uphold mana and dignity.
We appreciate the different skill set within our team who come from different backgrounds, cultures, education, and experience - they all share the ability to motivate and work alongside others to support them to make positive changes in their lives.
Please note, this specific role will not be based in the Special Treatment Units although it is mentioned in the job description.
We will be holding an Assessment Centre for this role on Monday 1st December 2025 at the Regional Administration Building, Freyburg Road extension, Trentham Upper Hutt- shortlisted candidates will be asked to attend in person.
The successful applicant will be required to start on 16th February 2026.

* Instructing school lessons with up to 10 children per class

About the Role
Hillary Outdoors is excited to invite applications for the Programme Operations Manager position at our new Marine and Conservation Centre located in Port Charles, Northern Coromandel. This pivotal role is essential for ensuring the efficient and safe delivery of high-quality outdoor education programmes that align with our organisational standards and client objectives.
As our Programme Operations Manager, you’ll balance overseeing programme operations with delivering programmes as a Senior Instructor. Working closely with our Centre Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in programme safety, training other instructors and maintaining operational success. This role requires NZOIA (or equivalent) qualifications with a focus on Marine skills, and experience in a similar role.
About You
We are looking for a strong team member who is not only a good coach to others but also passionate about embracing environmental and conservation education. Your marine skills will be invaluable as you lead and coordinate outdoor education programmes focused on marine, bush, and conservation education. You’ll enhance participant experiences, understand client needs, and develop programme resources.
In this role, you will monitor programme effectiveness through feedback and implement improvements, while collaborating with the wider team for logistics. You’ll supervise and mentor instructors and interact with clients to ensure programme objectives are met.
Additionally, you will handle administrative tasks, recruit and manage volunteers as required, ensure the delivery and completion of NZQA unit standards for school clients, and maintain equipment. Flexibility to act as Duty Manager or instructor as needed will also be essential.
Key Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will have past experience in a similar role, senior outdoor instructor experience, and be ready to step-up. Relevant qualifications, NZOIA or equivalent, a valid driver's licence and marine skills with proficiency in some, or all, of the following; sea kayaking, waka ama, sailing, powerboating, coasteering, snorkeling and surfing are ideal.

Kāpuhipuhi- Wellington Uni-Professional Ltd is growing its Scholarships team and is currently recruiting a permanent, full-time position for a Programme Lead - Scholarships. This role supports the delivery of programmes under the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship Programme, specifically the Thematic Short Term Training Scholarships (TSTTS) portfolio and in-country (IC-ELT) programme.
Key responsibilities of the role
Develops and maintains processes and relationships to support the successful operation and delivery of the TSTTS and IC-ELT programmes with strong attention to detail, quality and accuracy.
This includes the following:
* Work with key stakeholders, including Education NZ, MFAT and New Zealand Post teams to promote the programmes
* Lead the application process for TSTTS programmes, including management of the application portal
* Produce monthly activity reporting, including extraction and manipulation of data from application portal
* Financial management, including creation of budgets and reporting
* Accountability for predeparture briefings, travel logistics, accommodation, stipends, orientation, and escalated pastoral care issues
* Engage with providers to ensure successful delivery of the programmes
* Monitoring and evaluation and associated reporting
* Assist with the other international and scholarship programmes and activities as requested

* Demonstrated experience in financial reporting and budget management
* A high level of technical competency in Microsoft Office products, particularly excel, and internet applications
* Demonstrated effective project management skills and understanding, and an outcome-oriented approach
* Proven understanding of adult education principles and practice
* Proven knowledge of tikanga Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and mātauranga Māori
* Demonstrated effective project management skills and understanding, and an outcome-oriented approach
* Understanding and appreciation of cultural differences
* Networks in the public sector and related organisations and businesses
* Demonstrated experience in business development activities
* Availability to work evenings and weekends, and travel if necessary

* Maintain programme and scholar information in the application management system
* Use mail merge to create scholarship letters, certificates and other documentation
* Arrange scholar travel, accommodation and insurance
* Engage with scholars and key stakeholders, providing relevant information and answering queries
* Prepare orientation packs and assist in pre-departure briefings if applicable
* Event and classroom logistics and delivery where applicable, including but not limited to room bookings, catering, set-up of venue and equipment
* Financial tasks including invoice processing, stipend payments and reimbursements
