Hydraulics/Mechanical Engineer
Our Company - Riverbank Engineering 2021 Ltd, is an independently owned and operated Company based in Otaki on the Kapiti Coast. A long-established Company, well known throughout the Kapiti Coast and Horowhenua region. We have a real passion for people and pride ourselves on delivering an efficient and friendly service to all our customers. Our Company specialises in Structural Steel/Agricultural/Precast Moulding sectors and we are a proud member of the Hydraulink franchise.
We are currently seeking a suitably qualified person to operate our Hydraulic repairs department. Applicants should ideally be familiar with forestry, earthwork, farm machinery and water blasters including an understanding of hydraulic hoses, rams and pumps.
Previous experience in the hydraulic industry would be an advantage but training will be offered where required. The successful applicant must be able to work independently, be customer focused, self-motivated and well presented and have excellent communication skills.
This full time, permanent position includes both workshop based and field work. The role would ideally suit someone who can operate on an “On Call” basis to suit our clients’ needs after hours both during the week and at weekends. The role comes with a service vehicle and cell phone.
Attributes we are looking for in applicants for this role are:
• A mechanical aptitude with a good working knowledge of heavy equipment, both mobile and static.
• Experience in maintenance engineering.
• Previous experience with hydraulics and similar mechanical systems.
• Diagnostic and trouble shooting skills.
• A passion for providing exceptional customer service.
• An eye for detail and strong time management capabilities.
• Be physically fit – some heavy lifting is involved.
• Have a professional approach to your work.
• Have an excellent Health and Safety record.
The successful applicant would also form part of our busy engineering team during down time in the Hydraulics area. A background in General Engineering including experience with Mig and Arc Welding would be seen as an advantage.
About You: You will be self-motivated, reliable and punctual and be able to work flexible work hours if necessary. You will need to have a clean NZ drivers license Full Class 1 minimum.
