We are currently looking for empathetic and passionate Support Workers to work within our specialist team. Our teams are our greatest asset, and we are committed to employing and training the best people. We are looking for energetic and motivated people to support others in their own homes. We are seeking Support Workers who are available to work Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays between 7.00am and 5.00pm in Wigram, Christchurch, with our specialist client. What does a Specialist Support Worker do? You will help our clients to achieve their goals and reach their potential through both practical and emotional support. Responsibilities can vary, and you will follow a care plan, which may include some or all of the below: * Meal preparation * Community outings and integration * Giving medication * Personal cares (showering, toileting etc) * Bowel management stage 3, manual handling and hoist transfers * CPAP * Passive exercise * Colostomy care * Home management What do you get? * Earn competitive pay rates between $23.97 and $29.68 per hour * Variety of shifts * Earn while you learn with free training towards NZQA Health and Wellbeing qualifications * Work phone, along with other benefits such as discounted Southern Cross health insurance * Job security with guaranteed hours and travel allowance * Employee assistance programme available whenever you need health and wellbeing support What are we looking for? * A great attitude - a desire to help and support others, achieving excellence in all you do! * Previous healthcare or caregiving experience is desirable * Experience with spinal injury clients is preferred * Excellent communication skills and flexibility to work alternative weekends * Healthcare qualifications are advantageous * Most positions require a full NZ driver's licence and your own reliable transport If you are passionate about supporting people, then maybe there is a role for you here.
