High-impact work on iconic industrial projects 2. Join a motivated, expert team that values quality craftsmanship 3. Guaranteed security with stable work environment The Industrial Architect: Mechanical Fitter (Heavy Engineering)Location: Rotorua | Building the Backbone of Industry Ever stood next to a massive log-handling system or a heavy-duty industrial conveyor and wondered how all those moving parts work in perfect harmony? Someone had to build it. Someone had to align it. Someone had to make it breathe. We are a powerhouse of heavy engineering based in the heart of Rotorua. We don't just build machines; we build the infrastructure that keeps New Zealand’s timber and marine industries moving. We are looking for a Mechanical Fitter who lives for the 'click' of a perfectly seated bearing and the power of a finely tuned hydraulic system. The Role: Assembly, Alignment, and ActionIn this role, you are the person who turns a pile of fabricated steel into a living, breathing piece of industrial machinery. - Precision Assembly: You’ll be responsible for the final fit-out of massive engineering projects. This means installing shafts, aligning complex gearboxes, and ensuring every component is square and level. - Systems Integration: You’ll be connecting the 'vitals'—installing and testing hydraulic and pneumatic systems to ensure smooth operation without friction or vibration. - Onsite Execution: Our work isn't just workshop-bound. You’ll be heading out to major industrial plants to install new builds or diagnose and repair heavy equipment on the frontline. - Rigging & Scale: You’ll be working with the big gear—using overhead cranes and specialized rigging to position heavy components with surgical precision. What You Bring to the Team - The Experience: You have a background in mechanical fitting, ideally within heavy industry, forestry, or marine engineering. - The Skills: You’re comfortable working from complex technical drawings and have a deep understanding of mechanical tolerances. - The Gear: You’re handy with more than just a spanner; you know your way around precision measuring tools and high-torque equipment. - The Safety Mindset: Experience with Working at Heights, Harnesses, and MEWPs (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms) is a huge advantage for our site-based projects. - The Attitude: You’re a team player who communicates clearly and brings a positive energy to the workshop. Why You'll Love It Here - Guaranteed Security: A minimum of 40 hours per week in a high-demand, stable environment. - High-Impact Work: You’ll be working on iconic projects that define the Bay of Plenty’s industrial landscape. - Growth & Support: Join a motivated, expert team that values quality craftsmanship over 'just getting it done.'
