We’re seeking to expand and require a experienced Fitter Turner / Machinist to join us, working across a range of jobbing work. About the role You’ll be involved in machining and mechanical fitting across a range of jobs, supporting both workshop and project needs. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in accuracy, problem-solving, and delivering quality outcomes. What we’re looking for • Trade qualification as a Fitter Turner / Machinist (or equivalent) • Previous experience in a jobbing shop environment • Operate machinery including lathes, manual milling machines, drills, and saws. • Strong machining and mechanical fitting capability • A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to work well in a team • A strong commitment to safe work practices • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately • Able to work in a team or unsupervised • Welding an advantage (not essential) What’s On Offer • Competitive hourly rates based on experience • Ongoing, stable work for the right person Local role – be home every night • Supportive team and well-equipped workshop • Opportunity to grow your skills and career Additional requirements: • Must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident. • Must pass a pre-employment medical and drug / alcohol test. • Clean criminal record required. • Valid class 1 Full driver licence – must be able to drive company vehicles.
