They are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join their small but capable team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys varied mechanical work and wants to be part of a supportive and hands-on workshop environment. Key Responsibilities: As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play an important role in maintaining and repairing diesel engines and heavy machinery to ensure reliable operation for customers. Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: * Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults on diesel engines and heavy equipment * Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on trucks, machinery, and diesel-powered vehicles * Conducting preventative maintenance and safety checks * Troubleshooting breakdowns and performing repairs both in the workshop and occasionally on-site * Maintaining accurate service records and job documentation * Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and within required timelines * Following all health and safety procedures and workshop policies * Maintaining a clean and organised workspace To be successful in this role, you will need: * At least 3 years' relevant experience as a Diesel Mechanic * Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills * Experience working with heavy diesel engines and equipment * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail * Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks required in a workshop environment * Flexibility to assist with breakdowns or urgent work when required * Complete a pre-employment drug & alcohol test if requested * Provide an up-to-date criminal record check if requested To Apply: RecruitNZ, part of People Inc, specialises in recruitment for small to medium local New Zealand businesses and has been one of New Zealand's trusted recruitment agencies since 2008.
