We’ve got an exciting Design Engineering Manager role just for you! In this position, you’ll get provide technically appropriate, accurate and cost effective designs, drawings, specifications, reports, engineering investigations and solutions to meet practical construction, tendering and client requirements. To assess the technical risks associated with prospective projects and propose mitigation measures throughout project lifecycle making a real impact. Preparing design solutions, in compliance with accepted industry standards, to meet clients’ requirements. Preparing technical documentation in accordance with the best engineering and industry practice. Coordinating the engineering aspects of projects in accordance with Omexom ISO 9001 system and Omexom Design Control Procedure QM19. Controlling the design process where external design engineers or consultants are appointed. Verify works meet Omexom requirements Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and reasonable care that your acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of other persons. Comply with any reasonable instruction given to you by Omexom relating to health and safety. Qualifications and Skills • Bachelors degree or diploma in electrical, civil or mechanical engineering, and/or a proven track record of engineering design in the electrical power sector (industrial, transmission and/or distribution) with at least five years experience. • Experience in engineering design in the power sector including reviewing civil and mechanical plans. • Ability to adapt and comprehend changes in technology, and suitably apply those changes to achieve optimum design solutions • Awareness of national and international trends in the power industry • Working knowledge of PLS-CADD or similar line design programme.
