




Summary: Central Wood Recyclers Limited is seeking a hands-on Workshop Manager to lead and support a team in maintaining heavy diesel machinery and equipment for forestry and heavy haulage operations. Work with a modern fleet and continually updated heavy machinery Central Wood Recyclers Limited has a position for a hands-on Workshop Manager to run and take on maintaining our heavy diesel machinery and equipment. We currently have over 50 assets ranging from light vehicle utes and trailers to Ripper, Morbarks, Excavators, Loaders and 60T Chip Dozers. Most of our equipment is based in forestry blocks and customer sites with all being looked after by our workshop team located in Taupo. Our workshop also looks after a modern fleet of Chip truck and heavy haulage transporters for sister company Richmond Heavy Haulage Limited. Responsibilities include: * Organising workshop jobs on a daily basis for the team, including apprentices. * Lead and support the team of mechanics. * Take calls from machine operators, management, suppliers and truck drivers. * Liasing with the Transport Co ordinator regarding servicing and maintenance of trucks. * Run and attend workshop toolbox meetings. * Assist with audits and attend both H&S and management meetings. * Ensure the workshop is run effectively and maintained. * Providing hands on assistance in the workshop when required. * All other duties required. Applicants for this role require the following: * A recognised qualification in Heavy Mechanical Engineering or a related field. * At least 2 years of proven experience in a similar role. * Are approachable and have the ability to work unsupervised and within a team environment. * Understand and adhere to all Health & Safety regulations, working closely with our dedicated H&S Manager. * Confidence and accuracy in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues. * Willing to learn, develop and grow within an expanding company.
