Stable employment with a growing business * Immediate Start available | Full Time | Permanent role * Competitive Rate + $32 - $38 | Time and a half after 40 hours * Working Hours | Monday - Friday | 6.30 - 4pm | Occasional Saturdays Timber Machinist The Opportunity We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Qualified Timber Machinist to join a well-established timber processing operation based in Christchurch. This is a hands-on role working with a range of timber processing machinery to manufacture various timber sizes and profiles. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring products meet quality standards while maintaining efficient production output. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with an immediate start available for the right person. What's on offer * Competitive pay rate of $30 - $40 per hour depending on experience * Full-time permanent position * Immediate start available * Ongoing training and development opportunities * Supportive team environment * Stable employment with a growing business * Opportunity to work within a well-established timber processing operation Key Responsibilities * Set up and operate timber planing machinery * Set tooling, cutterheads, blades, and machine parameters for optimum quality and efficiency * Conduct quality checks and ensure products meet specifications * Carry out tooling changes and support machine maintenance activities * Maintain excellent housekeeping standards * Follow all health and safety procedures * Work collaboratively with the wider production team About You To be successful in this role, you will have: * A Timber Machining qualification or significant industry experience * Minimum 3 years' recent timber machining experience, or strong experience within timber processing or joinery * Experience operating timber machining equipment and setting tooling safely and accurately * Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality * Good communication and teamwork skills * A proactive, reliable, and positive attitude * A strong commitment to workplace health and safety Physical Requirements - This role involves: * Standing for extended periods * Manual handling * Working in a busy production environment Applicants Must Have * Current New Zealand working rights * Be currently residing in New Zealand * Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test * Reliable transport Apply Now If you are an experienced Timber Machinist looking for your next opportunity in Christchurch.
