Career progression for skilled drainlayers and labourers * $30-$40 per hour + 8% holiday pay + weekly pay cycle * Hands-on drainage work: trenching, pipe laying, infrastructure builds * Temp to perm opportunities About the Role This is a physically demanding role where you'll be working in trenches installing and maintaining drainage systems across civil and commercial sites in Auckland. You'll be hands-on every day—digging, laying pipes, backfilling, and ensuring drainage is installed accurately and safely. Benefits * $30-$40 per hour, paid weekly * Monday-Friday, full-time hours * Career progression for skilled drainlayers and labourers looking to step up * Work with experienced civil teams on long-term projects * Supportive supervisors and safe, well-organised worksites Duties * Digging trenches (hand digging and assisting machinery operators) * Laying stormwater and wastewater pipes to exact measurements * Installing manholes, soak pits, sumps, and other drainage structures * Backfilling and compacting trenches * Using levels, lasers, and site plans to set out drainage * Operating hand tools and small machinery * Working safely inside open trenches and varying ground conditions * Supporting machine operators and site supervisors as required Skills and Experience * Drainlaying experience in civil construction (commercial, subdivisions, or utilities) * Ability to work in trenches and handle physically demanding tasks * Experience with pipe laying, trench shoring, and backfilling * Understanding of levels, grades, and reading site plans * Registered or experienced drainlayers welcome * Valid Site Safe (or willingness to obtain) * Valid working rights in New Zealand * Full NZ driver's license * Strong safety mindset and teamwork skills Apply by clicking 'Apply' or email Brie Kennedy at Brie.k@stellarrecruitment.co.nz if you have any questions.
