Collaborative team environment with focus on customer satisfaction The Role With ongoing innovation and growth within the industrial gases industry, we have a permanent full-time position available for an experienced Service Technician to join our Customer Engineering Services (NZ) team, based in Penrose, Auckland. We’re looking for a practical, hands-on technician with around 2–5 years’ experience. This role would suit someone from a trade or blue-collar background who’s keen to build their skills, takes pride in doing a solid job, and understands the importance of working safely. Day to day, you’ll be out on site installing, servicing, and repairing gas equipment and piping at customer locations. It’s a varied role where no two days are the same, working with a range of customers across different industries throughout New Zealand. Experience with industrial refrigeration would be a real bonus. What you will enjoy doing • Take responsibility for mechanical maintenance of equipment across customer and BOC sites with a focus on medical, industrial, food, scientific, and hospitality industries • Maintain BOC owned assets in accordance with NZ regulations on customer sites in central to the upper north island • Taking a hands-on approach to supporting the local project management and sales teams to achieve customer satisfaction • Install and maintain instrumentation, gas supply and cryogenic supply systems within a vast variety of industries • Conduct audits and inspections of gas supply equipment in line with NZ codes and standards • Strategizing on a safe approach to our exciting and challenging industry • Collaborate closely within a mid-sized team throughout New Zealand What makes you great • Trade qualified in Mechanical or Instrumentation (or solid hands-on mechanical experience) • Ability to read and work from P&ID drawings • Experience with flow control systems • Stainless steel fabrication and assembly from detailed drawings, including custom work • ASME welding tickets, brazing of copper pressure pipeline systems and related fabrication skills highly regarded • EWP, Working at height and confined space experience a bonus • Flexible with working hours and available for on-call duties • Proficiency with iPad/iPhone/computer skills • Unrestricted driver’s license required (forklift licence a bonus) • Ability to work independently while building strong customer relationships, with excellent communication skills, a customer-focused approach, and high attention to detail. • Experience in compressors/refrigeration, instrumentation, industrial gas systems, or maintenance/project installation, with restricted electrical or gas-fitting licences also a plus.
