In this role, you'll be responsible for planning, organising, directing and controlling surfacing and sealing operations to deliver safe, high-quality, and cost-effective outcomes for our clients. You'll play a key role in supporting and developing your crew, maintaining a strong Zero Harm culture, and ensuring all productivity, financial, quality, and safety targets are achieved. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, has a strong technical background in surfacing, and enjoys mentoring and developing teams. **Key Responsibilities** * Manage and supervise the Tasman surfacing and sealing crew to deliver works safely, efficiently, and to specification * Supervise and support crews on site, including providing hands-on guidance and training where required. * Coordinate subcontractors to ensure their work aligns with project objectives. * Manage site costs, equipment, plant, and materials to minimise wastage and downtime. * Liaise with clients, residents, and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and positive relationships. * Monitor compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) requirements, promoting a culture of Zero Harm. **Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills** To be successful in this role, you will bring: * Proven experience supervising surfacing or sealing crews within roading operations * Strong knowledge of surfacing specifications, procedures, and quality standards * Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills. * The ability to make sound decisions and provide clear direction under pressure. * A proactive and solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. **Ko wai mātou | Our Organisation** Want to know more about what it is like to work at Downer?
