**ABOUT THE ROLE - NGĀ ĀHUATANGA O TE TŪRANGA**
This role supports the effective management, maintenance, and compliance of Council‑owned buildings and facilities across the district. You will help ensure facilities are safe, functional, and well‑maintained for staff and the community.
Working across a diverse property portfolio, you will contribute to asset management planning, maintain asset data and schedules, and support lifecycle and long‑term planning. You will assist with building renewals, maintenance programmes, and compliance activities, including Building Warrants of Fitness and health and safety requirements.
You will also support facilities‑related projects, coordinating contractors and consultants, assisting with procurement and contract management, and helping deliver projects from planning through to completion. The role works closely with the Facilities and Procurement Manager and internal stakeholders to continuously improve facilities management practices.
**WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR - KEI TE KIMI MĀTOU I TĒNEI MOMO TANGATA**
We are seeking a proactive and organised facilities professional with an understanding of building maintenance, asset management, and project coordination.
You will bring:
* Knowledge of building systems, maintenance, and asset management practices
* Experience supporting facilities maintenance, building projects, or asset management activities
* An understanding of health and safety and building compliance requirements
* Experience working with asset, property, or database management systems
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders
You will be detail‑focused, adaptable, and solutions‑oriented, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a busy environment. Project management certification (e.g. PRINCE2 or PMP) and facilities or asset management qualifications are desirable.
